What are cookies and similar technologies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device. This website is deliberately low-tracking: it does not set any first-party cookies of its own. Your cookie choice is saved in your browser’s local storage (localStorage), not in a cookie – it has no expiry date and remains until you clear it. The only cookie that may be set is an optional third-party cookie from Google reCAPTCHA, and only if you accept it.
1. Consent storage (essential, no cookie)
smartone_cookie_consent – set by SmartOne in browser local storage; remembers whether you accepted or rejected non-essential cookies; no expiry (persists until you clear it). Strictly necessary to honour your choice, so it does not require consent. This is local storage, not a cookie.
2. Third-party cookie (optional)
_GRECAPTCHA (and related Google cookies), set by Google LLC – bot and abuse protection on the contact form. Set only if you click "Accept" on the cookie banner. Duration: up to approximately 6 months. We do not use Google Analytics, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, Hotjar or any other analytics or advertising trackers.
3. Services that receive data but do not set cookies
- Cloudflare, Inc. – DNS and network/edge security.
- Cloudinary – image content-delivery network; receives your IP address to serve images.
- Google reCAPTCHA – beyond the cookie above, processes IP address and interaction signals to score form submissions (only after you accept).
4. Managing your consent
Use the cookie banner to accept or reject non-essential cookies. You can change your choice at any time by reopening the banner or by clearing your browser’s local storage and cookies. Essential consent storage cannot be switched off, as it is needed to record your preference. If you do not consent, the contact form remains available with an alternative anti-spam measure.
5. International transfers
The optional reCAPTCHA cookie and the services above involve transfers to the United States. We rely on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework (adequacy decision of 10 July 2023) for certified providers and on Standard Contractual Clauses for our hosting provider. See our Privacy Policy and Data Residency page. Contact: info@smartoneworld.com.
